About fetchSolutions

The Business Strategy destination for the Mid-Tier Electronic Component Executives...


Welcome to the first edition of fetch Solutions: an on line platform for component veterans, executives, marketing and sales professionals, and enthusiasts alike. Our partners are all members of the component Supply-Channel. They include franchised distributors, component manufacturers, manufacturing representatives, and customers.

Like many of you, I started in the electronics components industry over 30 years ago. I have seen the highs and lows: the vibrant 70's and 80's, the slowdown in the 90's, the Bubble, its burst, and now, the Internet alternative sales-channel. Like some of you I almost quit a few times - but being a Stubborn Irishman - I have always returned to help reshape how the Internet and Technology will become the platform for buying and selling of components. We also provide a black board for all supply-chain partners to access industry franchised product information 24/7.

fetch Solutions is also in the business of providing SaaS application "e-Catalog" web sites to the components industry to dramatically alter the way that e-Business will be done. fetch Solutions believe that over 40% of the components sold in the near future will be facilitated on the Internet. The catalog guys have already achieved this benchmark!

So why a new web Blog and a newsletter? I've spent the past few years in your shoes: surfing the Internet to find a place where I can get all the information I need to figure out how technology is going to alter the way the components industry will transact business: trends, issues, companies, SaaS, "e-Catalogs" and so on. But I could not find such virtual space. So I made up my mind that I was going to build it! It is called "fetch Solutions". It is a Blog - the Blog is a focused site that provides a stimulating atmosphere to provide direction and leadership as to how the components industry will transact eBusiness now and in the future.

The traditional top-tier companies should be providing the leadership for this industry, but they are focused on continuing to transact business the traditional way which is using "brick and mortar and people". They are trying to slow down the true benefit of the Internet, which is a self-serve environment.

I decided that we should launch fetch Solutions, where the component experts (top-tier, mid-tier, and low-tier) can go for their daily fix of strategic business information - be it news, insight, application software, analysis or community happenings.

fetch Solutions will provide you with the pertinent news, opinions from industry leaders and visionaries, information and actionable research and industry metrics. But most of all we want to provide a personality to lead the way for the industry. That personality is "fetch". fetch will create forums for you to discuss and debate issues and network the traditional and the virtual. fetch will provide you resources to choose the right technology, events and professional services. In short, we want fetch and his platform "fetch Solutions" to reflect the pulse of the components industry!

We hope that you will find fetch Solutions useful, insightful, directive, and entertaining - but we are just starting out. So please keep us in the loop, send to us your suggestions and ideas. Tell us what you like and what you don't - as well as what we should be researching for you, (after all the name fetch means "to gather stuff and information for the master") or perhaps a little criticism - "please make it just a little"! Keep us informed as to what is going on in your neck of the globe.

fetch Solutions intends to provide clear direction and application software which allows our strategic partners to move forward as a collaborative industry using the Internet to better compete globally. Our partners will garner added sales, significantly more profits, and a platform to compete with a global footprint.
